Philippine Embassy in Dhaka and the Philippine Honorary Consul to the Maldives discuss migrant workers concerns with Maldives Immigration officials.
27 February 2018 DHAKA - The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh represented by Third Secretary Ms. LV de Guzman and Assistance to Nationals (ATN) Officer Ms. Joany Margallo-Lucas, called on officials of the Maldives Immigration on February 27 to discuss local labor and immigration laws and practices relating to migrant workers in the Maldives. Maldives Immigration was represented by Assistant Controllers Abdulla Waheed and Hamid Fathuhulla, Chief Principal Immigration Officer Moosa Rameez (Airport Control Section), Chief Principal Immigration Officer Ahmed Waheed (Expatriate Monitoring and Repatriation Service), Chief Principal Immigration Officer Aminath Rasheeda (Foreign Employment and Expatriate Service), and Chief Immigration Officer Ali Saeed (Information Communication Technology).

27 February 2018 DHAKA – The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh represented by Third Secretary Ms. LV de Guzman and Assistance to Nationals (ATN) Officer Ms. Joany Margallo-Lucas, called on Deputy Minister of Economic Development and concurrent Chairman of the Labor Relations Authority (LRA) Mr. Abdul Rasheed Nafiz on February 27 to discuss matters relating to migrant workers rights and concerns in the Maldives. There are approximately 4,000 overseas Filipino workers in Maldives according to the records of Maldives Immigration as of December 2017.
