Dhaka, 02 March 2025 – The Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh, Her Excellency Nina P. Cainglet, paid a courtesy call on the Foreign Affairs Adviser of Bangladesh, His Excellency Md. Touhid Hossain, on 02 March 2025 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Noting that the Philippines was one of the first countries to recognize Bangladesh’s independence, Ambassador Cainglet said that the Philippines looks forward to hosting the third foreign policy consultations, which is an important opportunity to discuss the status of bilateral relations, including pending agreements.
The two sides were keen to enhance bilateral relations and also discussed the need to bolster economic relations through trade and investments. Foreign Affairs Adviser underscored the importance of connectivity, noting that the Philippines is well connected to many important cities, and has the potential to be a hub for international travel.
With the two countries’ shared experience in labor migration, there were discussions on the sharing of best practices on migration governance. END.
