The runners were categorized into four: 1240meter-runners Female, 1240meter-runners Male; 2480meter-runners Female and 2480 meter-runners Male.  The following categories received medals: First 20 finishers and top 3 for 1240meter-runners Female; first 15 finishers and top 3 for 1240 meter-runners Male, first 15 finishers and top 3 for 2480meter-runners and first 10 finishers and top 3 for 2480meter-runners Male. Volunteer organizers from the Filipino community and PHL embassy also received medals as token of appreciation for the success for success of the event.

The awarding ceremony was opened with a welcome speech by Philippine Ambassador Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo. The special guest, Assistant Professor Asma Banu (spouse of Baridhara Society President- Me. Ehsanul Haque) and guest of honor, Additional Secretary Mahmuda Sharmeen Benu, ndc of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs of Bangladesh also gave their speeches inspiring the participants of the content of their speech regarding gender equality, misconceptions about women empowerment and Bangladesh’ thrive for equality.

The activity was participated by more than 100 persons from the Filipino community, Baridhara Society, ASEAN Missions in Dhaka and Bangladeshi friends.  Doctors were also in the event providing free blood pressure measurements to the participants. Myanmar Ambassador to Bangladesh with his spouse also attended the event and Malaysian High Commissioner to Bangladesh with her spouse joined in the fun run.

The activity showed camaraderie, sportsmanship and over-all support to the celebration of gender equality and women empowerment. END.
