CONSULAR OUTREACH MISSION IN SRI LANKA
PHOTO: In line with providing consular services to Filipinos, the Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh conducted its second mobile consular mission in SriLanka at Global Towers Hotel in Colombo on 22-23 September 2018.
Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo headed the mobile team, which processed first time and renewal passport applications, and passport validity extensions.
The team also processed application for the registration of overseas absentee voters for the 2019 Philippine senatorial and party list elections.
The team also met with Filipino Community leaders in Sri Lanka to address their concerns while staying in Sri Lanka and answer clarifications on new policies of the Philippine government.
PH HOSTS CULTURAL NIGHT AT 7TH ASIAN TOURISM FAIR

03 October 2018, Dhaka – Showcasing Filipino talent and tradition, the Philippine Embassy in Dhaka organized a Philippine cultural presentation during the 7th Asian Tourism Fair on 28 September 2018 at the International Convention City in Bashundara, Dhaka.
Filipino folk dances and songs took the centerstage with the members of the Philippine Society in Bangladesh and the Filipino Grand Alliance in Bangladesh danced the “Sayaw-sa-Cuyo” and “Salakot,” respectively. The members of the Philippine Bangladesh Association performed duets of “Isang Lahi” and “Iingatan”.
The cultural night was attended by tourism officials, businessmen, and member of the international community. It was concluded with the awarding of the certificates of appreciation to the Filipino organizations and performers. END.

PH EMBASSY HOLDS LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM FOR FILIPINAS IN BANGLADESH
07 October 2018, Dhaka – As part of its women empowerment and development program, the Philippine Embassy in Dhaka conducted its four-hour 3D Jelly Course (Livelihood Program) for the Filipino ladies in Bangladesh conducted by Hoang Cake Brand in Dhaka from 28 September to 01 October 2018.
A total of 32 ladies graduated from the course.
The ladies were scheduled into seven batches over the four-day activity and a culminating program was held on 01 October 2018 at the Embassy chancery. The participants received certificates of completion from Hoang Cake Brand, and awards were given to the fastest learners and best decorators as a way of appreciating their efforts and good performance.
The culminating activity was also attended by the husbands and children of the Filipino ladies. One from each batch was also given the opportunity to share their experience in class.
Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo conferred a plaque of appreciation to Hoang Cake Brand owner and activity instructor Hoang Thi Thua Ha for imparting her time and knowledge to give new skill to the Filipino ladies which could become another source of income for their families. PH PARTICIPATES IN 7TH ASIAN TOURISM FAIR
03 October 2018 - Dhaka – Suman moron (twisted sticky rice cake), a famous delicacy in Leyte made of malagkit (glutinous rice), ordinary rice, coconut milk, evaporated milk, sugar, vanilla, and chocolate powder, highlighted the Philippine booth at the 7th Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) at the International Convention City, Bashundara (ICCB) in Dhaka on 28 September 2018.
As one of the special guests and speakers during the inaugural ceremony, Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo invited everyone to visit the Philippines and explore scenic places and the country’s world renowned nature’s wonders.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister A.K.M. Shajahan Kamal toured the various exhibition booths at the fair following the ceremony. END.
