The Cotton Fruit is endemic in the Philippines. Its fruit is yellow when ripe, with a sweet and sour flavor. It can be candied or used as a souring condiment. Its wood is best for carving.

Ang Santol ay katutubo sa Pilipinas. Dilaw ang bunga nito kapag hinog. Manamis-namis na maasim ang lasa nito. Maaari itong gawing minatamis o pampaasim ng lutuin. Mainam mag-ukit sa kahoy nito.
Ito ay hango sa "Flora de Filipinas" ni Padre Manuel Blanco, OSA, na unang nalimbag noong 1837.

“Walang Sugat,” is a zarzuela about forbidden love amid the Philippine Revolutionary movement against the Spaniards in 1896. This zarzuela was written by the Father of Tagalog Plays and Zarzuela, Severino Reyes.
This free special screening is brought to you by the Department of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Tanghalang Pilipino in celebration of “Buwan ng Pambansang Wika” (National Language Month) and “Buwan ng Kasaysayan” (History Month).
The Black Soapapple was brought into the Philippines by the Galleon trade from Mexico. Its fruit resembles the Chico, except that it has a green exterior and is black on the inside. It is an evergreen tree.
