08 February 2018 - The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka reminds our fellow kababayans in Bangladesh to stay vigilant and refrain from frequenting public and commercial spaces in Bangladesh in view of the announcement of a verdict in a court case against former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. Demonstrations and protests may take place starting today, throughout Dhaka and other parts of Bangladesh.
Further, the Embassy enjoins our fellow kababayans to monitor local news to be aware of traffic congestions as a result of the demonstrations and exercise caution at all times.

The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka informs the Overseas Filipinos in Bangladesh, Maldives and Sri Lanka that effective 1 January 2018, the Department of Foreign Affairs will issue regular/ordinary passports with a validity of ten (10) years for Filipino citizens who are eighteen years old and above, and five-year valid passports for those below eighteen years of age. Both ten-year and five-year valid passports will use the current electronic passport booklets without any change in design, security features and number of pages.
