PHILIPPINE OUTBOUND BUSINESS MATCHING MISSION TO BANGLADESH CALLS ON THE PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR
01 September 2019, Dhaka – Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo welcomed the first ever Philippine Outbound Business Matching Mission (OBMM) to Bangladesh.
The delegation, headed by Assistant Director Ms. Agnes Perpetua R. Legaspi of the Export Marketing Bureau (EMB) of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry, seeks to expand Philippine products’ presence in new markets like Bangladesh.
A welcome dinner was prepared by the Embassy where the Philippine delegation also got to meet the Philippine Honorary Consul in Chittagong, the Bangladesh-Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Board of Directors and leaders of the Filipino Community. END

27 August 2019, Dhaka – The Philippine Embassy donated several Philippine publications to the library of the American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB) to form part of the collection of its Filipiniana section, inaugurated on the same day. The AIUB is a leading private university in Bangladesh.
During the handover ceremony before the faculty and administration of AIUB, Ambassador Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo underscored the Philippines’ commitment to further people-to-people understanding between the Philippines and Bangladesh, and hoped that the books stir greater interest in the Philippines among Bangladesh faculty and students.
Ambassador Bandillo also remarked that the Philippines is celebrating its National Language Month this August, a time of reflection not just on our language, but also our identity and culture. END

08 August 2019, Dhaka – The Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo met today with the President of the Bangladesh-Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BPCCI) to discuss the upcoming Philippine Business Matching Mission (OBMM) in Dhaka on 1-4 September 2019.
The OBMM aims to improve Philippine-Bangladesh trade relations by pursuing opportunities and areas of cooperation between Filipino and Bangladeshi business sectors.
Both sides also discussed the upcoming activities of the BPCCI. END

08 August 2019, Dhaka – The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka joins seven (7) other ASEAN Member States in commemorating ASEAN Day at the Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka through the ASEAN Flag Raising Ceremony, followed by the ASEAN Food Festival 2019 where ASEAN Missions showcased choice traditional dish from their countries.
In attendance were the ASEAN Heads of Mission and the Bangladesh Minister for Industries, H.E. Mr. Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, as Chief Guest. Members of the Diplomatic Corps in Bangladesh also graced the ASEAN Food Festival. END
