06 May 2022 - The Philippine Embassy led by Ambassador Alan L. Deniega attendd the Awarding and Closing ceremony of the 2022 FilCom Sports Fest in Bangladesh.

This event was put on hold for two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the easing of the pandemic situation, the combined effors of tow Filipino Community Organizations in Bangladesh - the Philippine Society in Bangladesh (PSB) and the Filipino Grand Alliance in Bangladesh (FGAB) - led to the successful revival of the very festive sports competition.

In his remarks, Ambassador Deniega cogratulated not only the winners, but also the players who displayed excellent teamwork and sportsmanship. He also especially commended FGAB and PSB's initiative in holding the one-month sports festival. He highlighted the importance of such events, as it not only promotes physical fitness, but also strengthens the sense of community and camaraderie among Filipino nationals in Bangladesh. Ambassador Deniega assured the participants of the Embassy's continued support to the FilComms's sports activities.

Note: All participants are fully-vaccinated and were carefully monitored for any symptoms during the duration of the SportsFest.
