The meeting was organized in line with the Embassy’s efforts to strengthen its response to the growing concerns of Filipino nationals in Bangladesh, especially in the area of violence against women (VAW).

The CSO representatives shared some of the initiatives that their organizations are undertaking to protect the welfare of women, migrants, and workers in Bangladesh.    These include health and nutrition assistance, awareness raising activities, and other initiatives that empower women and impoverished communities.

Brac, one of the largest CSO in the country, provides shelter to returning Bangladeshi migrants and assistance and rescue to trafficked and distressed individuals, regardless of nationality.
