Ambassador Alan L. Deniega recently met with the incoming Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Philippines, Mr. F.M. Borhan Uddin, a very accomplished career diplomat of the Bangladeshi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in view of the latter's upcoming assignment.

In the send-off lunch, Ambassador Deniega and incoming Ambassador Uddin discussed topics of mutual interest, particularly their plans on how to improve relations between Bangladesh and the Philippines in the areas of bilateral trade, people-to-people interactions, cultural exchanges, and education.

Notably, the two countries will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in February 2022. As such, the two diplomats agreed to meet again in the Philippines in the near future to follow up on their discussion and plans.
