21 March 2019, Colombo – Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh and non-resident Ambassador to Sri Lanka H.E. Vicente Vicentio T. Bandillo called on the new Director General for East Asia and Pacific of the Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry, Damanayanthi Rajapakse, on 19 March 2019 as follow-up call on the recent visit of the Sri Lankan President, Maithripala Sirisena, to the Philippines last January 2019. Commonalities between the two countries were identified as areas in need of cooperation between Sri Lanka and Philippines.  Bilateral agreements on the side of Sri Lanka were also followed-up.

To strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the international arena, Ambassador Bandillo also called on Director General Mashini Colone of the UN & Human Rights, North America Wing of MOFA-LKA.  Philippine Honorary Consul Hugh Sriyal Dissanayake and Attaché Joany G. Margallo-Lucas accompanied Ambassador Bandillo in the calls. END.
