During the meeting, Ambassador Bandillo emphasized that Philippine exports such as electronic and computer component products would be helpful and instrumental as Bangladesh paves its road towards its Digital Bangladesh vision, which aspires to promote the maximum use of technology to improve the daily lives of the Bangladeshi people. The Ambassador also spoke highly of the Philippine packaged food industry, which could provide Bangladeshi consumers high quality and delicious selections of snack foods and canned goods.
Acting Chief Controller Saha expressed appreciation for the Ambassador’s visit, and arranged a presentation for the Philippine Embassy delegation that contained the latest figures on Bangladeshi imports and exports, as well as the rules and procedures that the CCIE implements in its operations. Acting Chief Controller Saha told the Ambassador that it is important to bridge information gaps not just between the business sectors of Bangladesh and the Philippines, but also between the government representatives that provide guidance to companies. Mr. Saha thanked Ambassador Bandillo for his proactive role in bridging such gaps and welcomed increased exchanges in the future. END.
