The meeting was held as part of the Embassy’s GAD activities for Calendar Year 2018, in support of the Department’s targets and goals in relation to the DFA’s GAD program. END.
During the meeting, the Ministry provided the Embassy a copy of Maldives’ citizenship law and shared information on the legal processes and procedures in the MV that foreign nationals married to Maldivians must follow in cases of domestic abuse and harassment in a home setting. The Ministry also expressed openness to enhancing PH-MV ties through cooperation in the area of gender and development (GAD) and women empowerment.
