PHL EMBASSY IN DHAKA MEETS WITH MALDIVES OFFICIALS

The Embassy and the MPS discuss the establishment of informal focal point systems between the Embassy and the Maldives Police Service with cases involving overseas Filipinos based in the Maldives, and possible areas of cooperation between the Maldives and the Philippines in the area of police work and training on March 01.

The Philippine Embassy expressed appreciation to the Ministry on March 04 for its responsiveness during various meetings held with the Philippine Embassy throughout its visit to the Maldives from February 27 to March 04. Discussions with Maldives government officials covered a number of issues including migrant workers’ rights, human trafficking, police cooperation, information sharing, and gender sensitivity.
