Information Campaign on E-passports

The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka requests the Overseas Filipinos in Bangladesh, Maldives and Sri Lanka to check the validity of their passports and have them renewed if they have eight (8) months validity or less to avoid any inconvenience on their visa requirements.

            Taking into consideration the time frame a passport is delivered to the Philippine Embassy in Dhaka from Manila, the early renewal of soon-to-expire ePassports would mitigate inconveniences or any implications they may have on their working or residence visas.

            Further, as a matter of policy, the Department of Foreign Affairs discourages extensions of ePassports due to the fact that some foreign governments do not recognize the extension stamp, opting to stick to the validity date as stored in the chip of the ePassport.
